Mixed grades are based on the child's school year at the start of the season (i.e. for this season, the 2025 school year):
The above grades are all mixed, however girls also have the option to play in specific girls' only grades:
Players need to wear white shorts or blue club cricket trousers, and a junior playing shirt*. Sneakers (or cricket shoes) are to be worn. For the 2025/26 season we are introducing the blue club cricket pants for junior hard ball grades. You can feel free to wear them in the soft ball grades as well.
Each team is issued with a gear bag, which contains the necessary equipment for training and matches. Players do not need their own bats etc to start playing - this is something you can build up over time if you wish. A box is required for players in the hard ball grades.
You can purchase junior playing tops online.
*Details on how to purchase a junior playing shirt will be sent to players after registration.
Registration fees include team photo. Players will need to purchase a junior club playing shirt*, white shorts/trousers, a box for hardball grades, and wear sneakers or cricket shoes. While players can bring their own gear, gear bags are provided for each team.
The fees for the 2025/26 season are as follows:
Registration fees must be paid on registration. If you are unable to make an online payment, please contact the club directly on petonejuniorcricket@gmail.com to arrange a payment plan.
*Boys and girls can purchase the blue junior club shirt and this year we are introducing blue junior playing pants. There is the option for girls to purchase a junior girls shirt and wear in the mixed grade, which they wear if they are also playing in the girls-only grades. Further details on how to purchase a junior playing shirt will be sent to players after registration.
Our club is run by volunteers who give up their own time to provide an enjoyable experience for players. We ask that you show them respect and offer to support them where you can.
All teams require a coach. If you would like to be a coach/assistant coach for your child's team, please let us know when registering. You do not need to have been a player - coaching courses and support are available. Teams also require support with scorers and ideally a team manager.
Being involved in your child’s sporting activities has many rewards—memories, great conversations, a deeper relationship with your child and the chance to watch your child 's confidence grow.
If you are more of an organiser and interested to help with fundraising and/or organising efforts, there are spots available on the Junior Committee as well.
Junior enquiries can be made to our Junior Committee at: petonejuniorcricket@gmail.com
