Year 2 - Year 4 Mixed Softball Grades
Year 2 and Year 3 Dual Pitch
For kids in school year 2 or 3 (6-8 years old), these grades play dual-pitch format. This means kids are always in the game either batting, bowling or fielding and never get bored.
All games use a soft style ball and there is plenty of support for new players and every level of ability.
There are 8 players in each team and batter bat in pairs for 4 overs each. Games take approximately 1hr 15 mins. There is more action in less time so that everyone gets a more positive experience.
These games are usually played on a Saturday at 8:30am, 9:45am or 11:00am. Normally games are home and away so around half will be at Petone Rec and you get to explore the Hutt Valley for the other half. All cricket safety gear is provided.
The subs for the season is $90 per child, and we invite all new comers to give it a go.
Year 4 Softball
Aimed at children in Year 4 at school (8/9 years old). This grade is played using a soft-style cricket ball on a single pitch. Games are 16 overs and batters bat in pairs for 4 overs each.
Games usually take 1.5 hrs - 2 hrs and played around the Hutt Valley. All cricket safety gear is provided.
The subs for the season is $90 per child, and we invite all new comers to give it a go.
